Bunji Garlin is the last of the lyricists in the world of Soca. He’s one of the two biggest soca artists in the world (Machel Montano is his more melodic, hyperactive counterpart). Bunji’s signature is highly complex and thoughtful lyrics. His freestyling skills are world class; might be better than many mainstream rappers out right now. Bunji is practically the people’s champion as--unlike many top soca artists--he still lives and operates in Trinidad.
